A note....

A note from one of The Boy's teachers...

The Boy just seems like a natural leader. He is one of the most polite students in my Advisory and I see him as being an active part of his student body class. He is one of the students I expect to hear good things about when he gets to high school.

What is amazing to me, is that while I know he's a good kid, he surprises me every day and I am so thankful that others see in him the greatness that I do. The Man and I heard something similar to this from the youth pastor at our church. It makes my heart smile.

She has also nominated him to be in the National Who's Who Among Students. This is apparently a big thing and will help him get recognized with some of the colleges once he gets to high school.

update on the dress

OK, so we picked out the dress...and it should be shipped out soon. Once that arrives...let the alterations begin. That gives me a few days to find some shoes.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It has rained ALL DAY. I know we needed it, but why couldn't it have rained on a day when I was at home and could have been snuggled in my bed sleeping and watching movies. Ugh, that sounds wonderful!

San Francisco is in 16 days...WOW that really sounds close. I should either have a dress bought tonight or ordered tomorrow. OF COURSE I will have to have alterations done, because they don't make dresses for short chicks!! Fingers are crossed that we can get it done in time. OH and The Man wants my hair up that night...yeah, gonna have to figure that one out soon.

Sports are in full swing...they are enjoying it, even when they don't win. I have learned, baseball is NOT my favorite sport. Even less so than football... Now soccer...that's a sport I can dig. I can cheer and scream and be all kinds of crazy about my kids out there and I'm not usually the only one...maybe the loudest, but not the only crazy one.

My class is killing me...i mean really killing me. I have NO idea how I'm going to make it thru statistics. I just have to keep taking it one day at time and stick with it. I have GOT to get this over with.

Thank goodness blogspot saves these blogs as you go...we just lost all our power at work and all I could think of was..."shoot, it's taken me 6 days to blog and NOW you are going to delete it call???" But nope, good ol' blogspot saved my entry and I only had to retype the little bit about my classes. woo hoo

Alright...off I go to drive home in the rain...let's see if I can make it home (10 miles) in less than an hour...

Sweet sisters

These sweet sisters have the most beautiful laughter. I am graced by there presence each week during soccer practice. They come to watch and cheer on their older sister, who plays on the same team as The Girl. They make my heart smile each time I see them. God love their mom, she does it all by herself. Their dad is up in Canada playing professional football.

Emotions

There are some days that are just filled to the brim with emotions. For no particular reason. There is no explanation for the silence...or the tears, there is just a lot of emotion inside. Today is one of those days. I sit here and try my hardest to pull it together. For no good reason I have tears in my eyes. I have an overwhelming urge to just close my door and cry. But I'll suck it up in a few minutes and all will be ok.

Because afterall...I am superwoman. I can do it all. Even when I may not want to.

Happy Birthday

The Girl turned 8 on Sunday...has it really already been 8 years??

She has an amazing heart and even greater personality. Her mission in every day is to make someone laugh or smile. She is the class clown, your best friend, and extremely sympathetic. The Girl has a wonderful life in store for her and I can't wait to experience right by her side.

Happy Birthday!!

craiglist.com

Have you ever listed anything on www.craigslist.com before?? I hadn't until today. I finally got all the furniture listed and posted...within 10 minutes I had 6 emails wanting to buy it. How freakin' great is that? The lady who is buying it actually offered more than what I asked....

Woo Hoo....here comes more equipment for the indoor studio

One month to Live - week 3

This week we looked at our relationships and how we love others around us. This made me think about the relationships in my life.  There are people that I need to tell how much I love them, people that I need to forgive, and people that I need to say thank you to.

The first two are works in progress...

The third though is something that I have been thinking a lot about lately.  You have heard the saying that friends are either a season, a reason or a lifetime... There are so many that fit multiple categories.  But I want to say thank you to the people that fall into the season and reason category.  There are people that have come into my life just when I needed them the most and have left almost just as quickly.  There are people that I thought would be lasting friendships that turned out not to be.  There are people who are still in my life but from a great distance.  To all of those people, thank you.  You have helped me learn things at different points in my life, learn something about myself that I needed to learn at that moment, gave me something that I needed in my life, gave me a sense of peacefulness.  I am sad that the friendships and relationships won't turn out to be lifetimes but I thank you for helping me to become a better person.  To learn something about myself or my purpose.

I received an email tonight from a wonderful person who has always touched my heart like no one else.  He remembers every birthday of those in my family and my wedding anniversary.  He has seen me hit rock bottom and fly back up to great heights.  He is an amazing person that has a heart like no one I have ever met before.  While our relationship is not a daily relationship, and hasn't been for many years, he is still someone I cherish...even if it is only to talk thru email a couple of times a year.

To my seasons and reasons, thank you for helping shape my life and lead me down unexpected roads.  I hope that I was able to touch your lives as you have touched mine.

Dear Man,

I am so very proud of you for winning this annual award. I knew you could do it and I never doubted it for one moment. Even when you weren't sure it was all going to come together towards the middle of the last quarter...I believed in you. I am so excited for this trip and all the fun things we will get to experience. I love that we get to live life together and share these wonderful experiences.

I can hardly stand it...i am so very proud of you.
